Do you save the other pennies and hoard them, or do you return them to the banK?

I buy from several banks in my area and then I return the ones I do not want to my own bank. I do not get them at my own branch because they roll the ones that come in IE: the ones that I cashed in.

I let my kids keep the uncopper pennies when they sort them for me. Funny when I used to sort them like 30 percent were copper, now that they do it only like 10 percent are copper, wierd.

So are you saving them purely for the copper content or a SHTF scenario where pennies may be worth more?

In which case, does it matter if they are copper?

Also, do you get the look of "Oh great, here comes the penny guy again?"----when you bring in a bunch of them

I buy from several local banks and return to my own. The last time that I turned in pennies someone had just done so earlier in the day so I wonder if I'm not alone...

I'm buying for the eventual price of copper as well as a SHTF scenario. If society holds together then in a few years when I think the price is right I'll sell them off to the smelter.

The boxes that I have done are at least 30%. What state are you in?
